Holy metal rocks Batman! [Jun. 27th, 2009|11:34 am]

Oh my god! I'm still here.

Well I haven't posted since...... (tilts head thoughtfully) February of 2008. Holy SHIT! I am still alive. I can tell you all released a sigh of relief. Hmmmmm...what's new and interesting? Well, last time I left you I was on medical leave from the steel mill. My back is still shitty but better because of my fantastic chiropractor and a regular dosage of meds. Yippie, better living through chemicals! I am no longer on medical leave, and no longer with the steel mill. I was employed with a small local company doing invoicing and inside sales. It was a good job that I was great at and I enjoyed, so obviously I was laid off. ( insert Price is Right loser music). I am riding the unemployment train (toot toot) and taking a little summer vacation which is turning out to be fantastic! I have gotten close with good friends and really gotten to know my bed and my Xbox! WOOHOO! Unfortunately MY bed is the only I have gotten to know, teeheehee.

I have officially signed up for college. When I was getting it all taken care of, one of the tasks put before me was to apprehend my transcripts. I have some college experience so I had to contact my old school to get them, SIUE. When I finally laid my eyes upon the paper of doom I realized how irresponsible I had been that one year in Edwardsville. Out of 10 classes, i received F's in 6 of them. HOLY SHIT! But looking back now I can say that I deserved every single one of them. Well not all of them, one of them I only received because my teacher didn't like my style of writing, but he can just blow me. But I am signed up for classes and am just waiting to finalize my Financial Aid crap. WOOHOO, I am maturing, well maybe that was the wrong word to use.....WOOHOO, I am getting older.

Filthy and Gorgeous [Feb. 15th, 2008|02:21 pm]
Hello Strangers!!!

Its been a while, I know. Well one thing that I am working on right now is, I have been brought in as a promoter and planner for a gay night at a bar in Downtown St. Louis. It has been running for just a few weeks now and we are starting to pick up a little steam which is great. The bar is called Dolce' and its a very chic place (i feel to redneck to be there but whatever). But we are having a special event this coming Sunday (the 17th) called Filthy and Gorgeous' Red and White Party. its a charity event for Effort for AIDS. We will be selling jello shots and doing a couple raffles which all those proceeds will go to EFA. as well as half of the cover charge. It really is alot of fun there. We have Jeff "The Dirty Bus" Hopkins spinning the tunes and for those of you that know me, I dont dance, but Jeff gets me out on the floor. So I would love to see some of my close friends there, at least this sunday, and if not for me, at least come out to help raise money for EFA. The doors open at 9pm and the cover is $10 (which half goes to EFA). Dolce' is on the corner of Broadway and Olive and they have a myspace page (which I set up)

www.myspace.com/dolceultraloungeandbar

So come on down and check it out.
Thanks Men

hello everybody (hi dr. nick)

well it was brought to my attention that i had forgotten to tell you all what the results of my tests were! HA, my bad. i know you were all waiting in suspense. Well the MRI of my brain came back fine. the hamster is alive and well, a little overweight but healthy. lol. seriously, the neurologist said that he saw no lesions or anything to be nervous about. However, seeing as this is a rare strand of Multiple Sclerosis that is in my gene pool (apparently it usually only affects women in middle age, but it was my mothers UNCLE who contracted it when he was young) I am going to see a neurologist who specializes in MS just to make sure, but I'm staying positive about it all. I have been going to a chiropractor the last couple of weeks and im very optimistic about it. It seems to be helping already. However, with the restrictions i have for work, my company has nothing for me to do!! so i am on dr.'s leave indefinitely. So if anyone is looking to hire someone with minimal experience (haha) then drop me a line, (wink wink nudge nudge). So thats the scoop, more as it develops. So i guess ill write again in another 4 or 5 weeks. haha

well, i went and watched Hairspray yesterday, and might i just say that it was an amazing movie. I had never seen the original production (stage or movie) but i knew the basic plot. The story was heartfelt and the cast was amazing, yes even John Travolta who I originally believe to just be a gimick in this movie. The whole time i was sitting there, I could FEEL the energy pulsing off of the screen from these performers. One of the hardest reasons to translate a movie from stage to screen is that the show loses a lot of the electricity when its not live. However, through the majority of this show I believed I was sitting in the Fox Theater watching an off broadway troup doing a production of Hairspray.
Nicole Blonsky, as Tracy, was outstanding, and I forsee great things for her future. Although she has made it a difficult task by setting the bar so high right out of the gate. Elijah Kelley was also an amazing addition to this cast. His energy and power just shot into the audiences' hearts and every time he opened his mouth to sing or moved his feet to dance, you knew something spectacular was going to happen.
So all in all Hairspray was a terrific movie which i would recommend to anyone and everyone. I give it a 4.5 stars out of 5.

WOW! so it has been a little over 5 months since i last posted, no i would ask none of you to faint at the idea of me taking the time to do something like this, but alas it has happened!!!Quite a bit has change. My back has gotten worse, and from reading gryphons_hole LJ it seems i can sympathize with him. I go in on Aug 8th to get a brain MRI, because there may be a slight chance that i could have MS (multiple sclerosis) WOOHOO!! im just plumb excited (sense the sarcasm). I have never had to wait for a test like this, is has been almost a month since i made the appt, and its really starting to get to me. I missed two days of work this past weekend because ive been worrying about it so much, im making myself sick! ARGH! But in light of that, since i was off work sat and sun, that means that I got to read the new Harry Potter book! which was amazing, and dont worry, no spoilers will be put it here. Ill just say that it made my top 3 favorite harry potter books.

However, ive been keeping myself busy. I have been looking for a job, and i think i found one, but it all depends on this test on the 8th and what happens from there. I hope it works out because this new job will allow me time to return to school. I never thought i would see the day when i would want to sit in a stuffy class room again, and stare at the teacher with glazed over eyes, but i cant wait. Because of my work schedule i get every other thurs off so i can go play Darts will a bunch of my good friends at JJs, and then every other monday i get to go to the 3 bears' house for poker/darts/wii night and loads of good food. As ive gotten to know them more, the more i realize how lucky i am to have friends like them in my life. (AWWWW how mushy) well, i hear the music starting so i need to be off to my movie, im off to see Hairspray (i know, what a fag).

Alas, another V-Day has come and passed. I know im risking alienation here (god alienation was a great tv show) but i really dont like v-day. the idea that there needs to be one day out of the year to where i "need to make sure i say i love you". I, as well as almost all of the friends i have that are coupled, say it all the time. Im not going to spend 100 dollars on roses when i can get them for you on a day you arent expecting them and its more of a surprise, and its half the price!!! i wonder if im half jewish? so all my husband and i did was go to south city diner, had an amazing meal since there were only like 5 other people in there that night, the food was fast and amazing! and the waitress was quite the sweetheart too. big ole props to south city diner. then we went out to the baths to sit in the hot tub which we both need. for those of you that dont know, i have a bad back (see past entries) but my husband does as well.He spent all day tuesday shoveling snow in front of our apt building that he is the maintanance man for. so we went and relaxed which was great, since all the straight married guys werent there because they had to be with their wives. ha. so come on, tell me your v-day story!! i want to know.

Well another shift of work is over, 12 hours on midnights should be illegal, but because of the crap we had to do, i got about 4 hours of sleep at work last night, so i guess is shouldnt complain. but then i had to drive home 1.5 hours instead of 45 min, because of the weather, and the people that do know how to drive in it. however, i had a fun moment when i did a full 360 a slid from one side of the road to the other only going 20 mph, luckily there were no cars around and no one was hurt. i guess im kinda strange because i was laughing the whole time, it was fun! hehe. have to work again tonight but since we work 12 hours, we get 4 days off, and tonight is my friday.

Since i got so much sleep at work, im not that tired now! so im sitting up and trying to find some......visitors...wink wink nudge nudge. but because of the weather, no one wants to drive, including me.

Saw a new movie the other night, Crank, awesome action movie, not going to win any awards, but fun none the less. i suggest watching it on a night in with the other half (plus the lead guy, Jason whatever is very woof!)

Im getting excited, Mr Missouri Leather is just a few weeks away!! i cant wait, i know its going to go smoothly, well as smoothly as something like this can go. you should all come visit stl for the contest, and have a good time, itll be a blast, i know of a few of the guys that are entering and all i can say in yum!!!

Well, i havent posted in a LONG time. I just finished reading some of my friends pages, and wow, this winter hasnt been good for a lot of people travel-wise. Maybe its a good thing im not going to Tenn. this weekend. Im not to good with the wittiness and quips on here all the time, so i guess ill just do a basic catch up and hop some nuggets of hilarity squeeze themselves out of me. Have been working 12 hour midnights at work ( a steel mill) and it sucks big time, however i do get 4 days off a week which helps. My back is still in bad shape, have another DR appt at the pain managment clinic next week because my nerdy dr (who strangley reminds me of Screech off of Saved by the Bell) is full this week. Im all for pain and tourture, but only when there is a ruff man in charge.

Well as an official member of Gateway MC (leather club here in STL), im axiously awaiting the upcoming contest the first weekend in March, Mr. Missouri Leather. My husband and i are both on the commitie (wow i cant spell today) and I am having a great time getting it together, he on the other hand, well those of you that know dan would understand how he is handling one more thing on his to do list.

I just got home from work about an hour ago, and its officially my friday, so im going to try to stay up all day so i can get to sleep at a normal hour tonight. It usually works, but i just need to find something to do. hmmmm what could i possibly do that would keep my attention for an afternoon...for some reason my mind instantly goes to [info]gearjock
or [info]roadster_guy hehe.

WOOF! but alas, i cant ditch my other friend, i would feel like shit, and then i find out on sunday, i have to leave springfield early to get to my parents house in a small town just outside of Alton Il. for their anniversery. These usually arent a big deal in my parents house, but its their 30th. so its a biggie, they are gettin old, and im always there to remind them of that, well im of to JJs to watch some friends throw darts, then might head out to the bathhouse to sit in the hottub, my back is in bad shape tonight (for info, read previous posts) Ill talk to you all later, drop a line now and then. I recently got the results back from my MRI and I found out I have a disease called Spinal Stenosis, the collum where my nerves go through my spine, is smaller then a normal persons, so it is rubbing my nerves and causing the pain. WOOHOO! I talked to a neurologist today and he said, since im so young, and we caught it before it cause serious problems then surgery isnt necessary. But Im starting on a month long session of physical therapy which will suck but hopefully it will help. But that also means im on light duty at work. so i get to continue to be lazy like i have been the last 2 weeks, but now im getting paid for it. of all the things i could have inherited from my parents, i got their backs, couldnt i have just gotten a savings bond?

IVE GOT CABIN FEVER!!!!! I havent been to work since last friday, for some people this would be a good thing, but when your stuck at home because it hurts to go anywhere for to long, then you start to go a little crazy. Ive tried cleaning a bit, but cant do it for that long because it starts to hurt my back. Cant have sex for the same reason, haha. I have caught up on all my daytime television shows though. I even tried watching a soap opera the other day. I dont recomend it. Did you know that Susans dead ex husband is really alive after her current boyfriend did a brain transplant and now her ex husband has the brain of her decesed mother who susan killed? GASP! How will she ever explain this to the board of directors for the Nobel Prize in Science that she is nominated for? Find out next week on "As the world turns for all my childern admitted into general hospital"

Alas, another day, another 50 dollars spent. and its just now noon. kiwi59 came by today and showed me some interesting articles of clothing that i am going to purchase from him. a new pair of football pants and a scrimmage jerzey. then we headed out to dicks sporting goods, and for those of you that dont know me well, its like a porn store for me. we walked around the mall we were in and didnt see much so we headed over to johnny macs where i got some pads for the pants and another scrimmage jerzey to go with a different pair. hey, even butch gay men should accessorize accordingly.

on a different topic, i love to write, its what i do. just dont have the time and discipline to do it for a living (right now) so throughout this LJ from time to time, i might insert a poem, or short story, or start of a book. i accept all criticism, good and bad. i dont take anything personally, how am i supposed to get better if i cant accept negative comments? so if you read something you dont like, let me know and tell me why. i appreciate it all.

love, peace, and chicken grease.
